IEC 60884-1 standard on maximum and minimum force requirements for multifunctional pull-out force testers

The plug pull-out force test is a critical procedure used to determine the safety and reliability of electrical plugs. The test is designed to ensure that the plug remains safely inserted into the socket during normal use and to prevent accidental dislodgement.

The plug pull-out force test helps prevent electrical accidents. When a plug is not safely inserted into an outlet, there is a risk of arcing and sparking. This can lead to electric shocks, fires, and other hazards that can result in serious injury or even death. By performing a plug pull-out force test, manufacturers can ensure that plugs remain safely inserted into sockets during normal use, reducing the risk of electrical accidents.

According to IEC 60884-1 "Plugs and sockets for domestic and similar purposes, Part 1: General requirements", Clause 22, Requirements for the force required to pull out a plug, electrical accessories shall be constructed in such a way that the plug can be easily inserted and withdrawn, and shall be capable of preventing the plug from being dislodged from the socket during normal use.
For the purpose of this test, resilient earthing contacts are regarded as - poles regardless of their number: non-resilient earthing contacts are not regarded as one - pole regardless of their number.
Note: A solid pin used for grounding is a non-resilient grounding contact.

Interlocked electrical accessories shall be tested in the unlocked position. Passage is checked as follows.
For sockets.
1. A test is carried out to demonstrate that it is necessary to remove the plug from the socket.
2. Perform a test to demonstrate that the minimum force required to remove the single-pole pin gauge from each socket assembly is not less than that specified in Table 16. The maximum force is not greater than that specified in Table 16.

SH9406A MULTIFUNCTIONAL UNPLUGGGING FORCE TESTER is designed in accordance with the requirements of IEC 60884- 1 Clause 22 and other electrical accessories. Used to check the plug from the socket when the maximum force required to pull out and single-stage pins from the socket when the minimum force required to pull out, as well as detecting whether the socket can withstand the insertion of electrical appliances into the socket imposed by the transverse stress, the device is suitable for the rated voltage does not exceed 250V, the rated current is less than 16A of the plug and socket.
